Katy Moran – Writer and Author

Hello and welcome to my website

The wonderful bloggers have been making some noise about Hidden Among Us, which is very exciting – it’s in the shops now. Try your local independent!

There’ll be more details on my Review page – but here are a couple of tasters:

“I was completely lost in this dark but magical tale” – Serendipity Reviews

“Imaginative and dark with a fighting spirit” – Sister Spooky

“Fans of old magic stories, fairytales and the supernatural will love this book, and it doesn’t disappoint” – Chicklish

It’s funny – lots of the older people who’ve read Hidden Among Us have told me how scary they found it, whereas the teenage reviewers are way more concerned with how overprotective and annoying Lissy’s mum is! It definitely seems to be a book that provokes quite a range of reactions in people of different ages, but I guess perhaps that’s what comes of writing a book with a variety of viewpoints across the generations.

My other books

My first book, Bloodline, was published in March 2008 – it’s a spy story with a hint of magic, set over a thousand years ago in the mysterious Dark Ages. It was published in the USA in March 2009, which is really exciting.

The sequel, Bloodline Rising, is now in the shops. It is a tale of cunning young criminals, notorious thieves and a ruthless barbarian assassin set in

Constantinople in the Dark Ages. It recently hit US bookshelves and has been getting some really nice reviews over there – I’ll be adding these to the Reviews section on here as and when I get the chance!

My third book, Spirit Hunter, is a tale of forbidden love set along the dangerous and ancient Silk Road, and was nominated for the Carnegie Medal in 2011.

My fourth book, Dangerous to Know, is another story of forbidden love, but this
time a contemporary read for the festival-going generation.
