Katy Moran – Writer and Author

Hi Katy :) It was really nice to have you in our school today! I am a budding writer myself; how could I let become better at this? I am going up to Upper School in September; any ideas on what options to take to help me continue to do something in English. (Maybe a author, English teacher. These are what I would like to do) Please could you remind me of your Facebook page as well. Regards, Hayley

Positive Negative

Hi there,
I really enjoyed my visit to your school – it was great, and I'm glad to hear that you are a budding writer. The best way to improve is to keep on writing – and reading, too. Reading a lot will expand your mind and, more specifically, your vocabulary, which is always helpful to a writer. But write as much as you can: it's the best way to improve and to find a writing style that you are comfortable with. As for options at school, I suggest you choose whatever you enjoy the most because this will feed your brain and give you lots of ideas. It sounds like you will enjoy doing English at a higher level, though!
